GetApp.com Answers is a community-driven question-and-answer (Q&A) site that allows users to both submit questions to be answered and answer questions asked by other users. The site gives members the chance to earn points as a way to encourage participation.

Ask

Ask a question that matters to you, so that other people can give you answers. When asking a question, you categorize it in a topic, making it easier for others to find and answer it. Once your question is answered, select the best answer, or have the community vote for the best answer.

Answer

Have an answer to a question? Help other users out and earn points while doing so. Use the category list on the left side of each page to find open questions related to the topic you know about. You can also use the search box on the left side of each page to find questions and answers related to specific words and phrases. Your answer may be chosen as the best one, earning you extra points and prestige.

The Point System

Badges

You are also able to earn badges based on your activity on the site. Some badges are automatic and you will receive them once you reach certain point levels, other badges are awarded by the site to you based on specific criteria. Below is a list of the badges available and a description of how you can achieve them.

	Type: Automatically awarded Point Threshhold: 2500 There is nothing to say. A Guru is a Guru.
	Type: Automatically awarded Point Threshhold: 600 The "Beginner Badge" is given to people who are starting to contribute in the Q&A. We will be happy to give them more badges soon!
	Type: Automatically awarded Point Threshhold: 1000 The "Amateur Badge" is given to users that already know how the Q&A works and contribute with good answers to our community.
	Type: Automatically awarded Point Threshhold: 1500 The users awarded with the "Expert Badge" are people who contribute so much with this Q&A.
	Type: Automatically awarded Point Threshhold: 2000 Users awarded with the "Top Expert Badge" are top contributors on the Q&A, somebody very relevant on our community.

Guidelines

Only question are allowed on GetApp.com Answers that do not violate the community guidelines.

We encourage you to:

• Share what you know.
• Be courteous.
• Be a good citizen. When you see a great question or answer, give it a thumbs-up. If you see abuse, report it.
• Cite your sources. Give credit where it is due.
• Ask clearly. Keep your questions precise, but be descriptive enough to help people understand what you're asking.
• Categorize correctly. Placing your question in the right category ensures that it is seen by people who can give you better information and more accurate answers.

Please do not:

• Vent, rant or use hate speech
• Be mean or obscene
• Cheat
• Violate the law
• Behave maliciously
• Do harm
