I am looking at a platform to build business processes and workflows between mainstream applications that have open APIs (Google Apps, Zoho, Quickbooks...). Which solution to you recommend and why? I am considering Boomi, CastIron, Snaplocic and RunMyProcess. Any experience and feedback for any of these? Thanks

Good question and one we get daily in our network. We point our Cazoomi members to our "Data Integrators Features and TCO Matrix" to find out the true integration TCO for their business. Our teams have worked with the vendors & spent 100's of hours doing the research so you don't have to | http://bit.ly/8Y4o48I think we need to add RunMyProcess as well soon.~Clint@cazoomi

Thanks Clint, this is a great comparaison table, I did not know it existed but that is exactly what I needed. I think you are right, the guys at RunMyProcess also deserve your attention. Thanks againBrian

When building workflow/process applications new needs comes up as you start optimizing the process. An API that at a first look provides rich functionality is actually quite limited in practical use. For example you can create a new project through the API, but there is no way of adding users to the project. When asking the vendor to add this functionality in the API, the standard answer is "we are working on this". But nothing happens.Another issue we experienced was a hook in the API that did not allow us to use the API integration as a background task. A user had to be login to the system and confirm the action in the user interface. For REST based integrations use RunMyProcess, they have pre configured integrations available for most SaaS applications and it is easy to start with. For more complex solutions Bonitasoft is an open source Business Process Management (BPM) platform which support BPMN 2.0 and has a lively community that provides connectors:http://www.bonitasoft.org/exchange/
